Attractiveness for Fintech: High (especially if you are strong in exotic currencies)
Many FX traders look for clients with demand for exotic and minor currency pairs. The main reason: although volumes can be lower, the spreads are much higher - for example, 90 bps on GBP/KES versus 1.5 bps on GBP/USD.
But finding these clients is not easy, as there are not many of them.
One way to find them is to look for companies where owners or directors are residents or nationals of countries with exotic and thinly-traded currencies. See lists of such companies in the UK:
39,000 companies - owners are resident in countries with exotic or thinly-traded currencies, not in the UK. They are very likely to have strong demand for exotic and minor currency pair trading: they send money from their home countries to finance UK operations, receive income in the UK, and need to pay teams and suppliers back home.

56,300 companies - directors are resident in countries with exotic and thinly-traded currencies, which usually also means the company has a headquarters or significant offices there. Given they are directors and not owners, this is often a sign of more corporate-sized businesses rather than entrepreneurial ones — meaning they may be slower in their decision-making or reluctant to change providers, but they likely have higher volumes.

97,500 companies - owners are foreign nationals but live in the UK. This is a slightly different story: many of them may operate entirely in the UK, but many still have ties to their home countries and can be good customers. The success rate will be lower, but the sheer number of such business owners still makes this a rich field to explore.
